Terre d’expéditions

In each episode, the two hosts are welcomed by a community and tasked with an expedition based on a route historically used—and sometimes still traveled—by its members. Whether reaching a trapline or seasonal camp, traversing hunting and fishing grounds, paddling down a river, or traveling from one community to another, each mission confronts them with the challenges of the landscape they are crossing.

Before setting out, Christine and Guillaume learn from people who know the land intimately. These mentors pass on the knowledge and skills needed to carry out their self-reliant expeditions: identifying medicinal plants, hunting and fishing, preparing meals from what the land provides, reading a river, building a fire and shelter, navigating, and even repairing a canoe.

Then, they are left to their own devices. Without a guide or film crew, and carrying only a few essentials—such as dried food provided by community members—they must put what they have learned to the test. They traverse remote wilderness by canoe, on foot, on snowshoes, by dog ​​sled, or by snowmobile. The challenge is immense: days of grueling effort, vast distances to cover, unpredictable weather, and a wild landscape where any unforeseen event could disrupt their progress. Will they succeed in completing their mission? They document every stage of their journey themselves, using an immersive, vlog-style approach inspired by self-reliant expedition films. As the seasons and landscapes shift, each expedition becomes a true test of endurance, ingenuity, and adaptability. To reach their destination, Christine and Guillaume must learn to travel differently, drawing on the knowledge of those who have traversed these lands for generations. The adventure also becomes a unique opportunity to connect with the cultures, histories, and relationships to the land that are unique to each community.
