Ms. Ille has a rich and diverse background with nearly 20 years of experience in the broadcasting industry. Upon graduating with distinction from the Université du Québec à Montréal, Monika entered the industry working first for the Société Radio-Canada and then, for the National Film Board (NFB). During her time with the NFB she was instrumental in developing a new training program for Aboriginal filmmakers. She went into the world of film production and created her first documentary called French Man, Native Son. She has also worked with Quebec Native Women in Montreal and the Assembly of First Nations in Ottawa. Ms. Ille has been with APTN for the past eight years, serving as the Manager of Programming for the Eastern Region for most of her tenure.

Ms. Ille is a member of the Abenaki First Nation of Odanak and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Abenaki Museum. She is also a member of the Comité d’action sur la diversité culturelle of TVA and is an industry adjudicator on the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council – Quebec Regional Panel.

“Ms. Ille is a respected member of the APTN Senior Management Team,” said Jean LaRose, APTN’s Chief Executive Officer. “Monika has demonstrated strong vision and leadership skills. Her experience, expertise and background will be an asset to the network as well as our entire Aboriginal production community. I am very happy that she has accepted to tackle this key role at APTN.”
